“Consolo” is an ancestral ritual of Southern Italy that uses the comforting power of food, prepared with great care and delivered with the best crockery, to provide support and show affection to your loved ones bereaved.
This tradition is a perfect example of how the cooking can be a relational experience, devoted to the care of the others.
The pot ‘Il Consolo’ , inspired by the homonymous tradition, wants to stimulate solidarity chances among people, resorting to food and its comforting power, not only in dramatic moments, but to face the small problems of everyday life.
The pot indeed allows, in addition to traditional cooking, transportation of prepared food. This additional feature allows you to gift to others a good hot homemade meal, even in unusual contexts and outside the household and the intimacy of your home.
The project has been developed for the exhibition ‘Le Affinità Selettive– Premio Lissone Design in the occasion of EXPO 2015’ curated by Aldo Colonnetti and organized by MAC Lissone together with Triennale Milano.
The prototipe has been produced with the support and collaboration of Caimi Brevetti
